College students having automobiles registered in one Virginia locality imposing a license fee are not required to obtain new registration tags during the then current registration year while living at a college in another Virginia locality. However, students bringing cars into Virginia from out-of-state and living at a Virginia college for more than six months of the year are subject to Virginia registration in the locality in which they actually reside in the state. The locality from which tags are to be obtained is determined by actual residence and not by the address given in the registration application.
