NEW FILING AND PAYMENT EXTENSION FOR CERTAIN TAXES DUE TO THE GLOBAL CROWDSTRIKE OUTAGE
Many of the Department of Taxation’s filing and payment applications were temporarily unavailable due to the global CrowdStrike system outage. Because this impacted taxpayers’ ability to file and pay certain taxes, the Department of Taxation (“the Department”) is offering an automatic extension to Wednesday, July 24, 2024, for forms and payments due Friday, July 19, 2024, through Monday, July 22, 2024. This bulletin provides information regarding this temporary filing and payment extension.
Certain forms and payments originally due between Friday, July 19, 2024, through Monday, July 22, 2024, are now due on or before Wednesday, July 24, 2024. The relief provided by this tax bulletin is automatic and no application is required. However, to avoid the imposition of any applicable penalties, taxpayers must file any required forms and make any required payments by July 24, 2024. This extension includes the following taxes:
• Egg Excise Tax
• Cattle Tax
• Tire Tax
• Sales and Use Tax
• Consumer Use Tax
