Virginia's 2017 Tax Amnesty Program is now over.

The program ran Sept. 13 through Nov. 14, 2017 and allowed qualifying taxpayers to pay only the tax due and 1/2 the interest on eligible bills and delinquent tax returns.

If you filed an amnesty-eligible return during the 2017 Tax Amnesty period, but didn’t pay the full amount due, you will receive a bill for the remaining balance.

You have 30 days from the date of assessment to pay the bill in full and still receive Amnesty benefits.

If you couldn’t take advantage of the 2017 Tax Amnesty program, you may still have options to settle your tax bills - see Responding to a Bill for more information.

For specifics regarding the administration of this program, see the 2017 Amnesty Guidelines.
